The Office of the Vice-President International has launched the 2019-20 round of proposals for the International Student Experience Fund (ISEF). This Fund supports academic and non-academic initiatives that enhance the experience of international students, foster intercultural and international-to-domestic student, staff and faculty engagement, and internationalize the University of Toronto student experience. Please note that ISEF does not support travel expenses or initiatives that are designed to send students abroad.
ISEF supports two streams of funding, with the following timelines:
- Seed grants ($5,000 – $15,000 per year, for a max. of 3 years) are accepted on an ongoing basis.
- Impact grants ($15,000 – $100,000 per year, for a max. of 3 years) are accepted once a year. ISEF Impact grant now has a two-stage application process. Applicants have to submit letters of intent by October 18, 2019. If letters of intent are successful, applicants have to submit final proposals by January 27, 2020.
In the Faculty of Arts & Science, Seed grants require Decanal review. Impact grants require written Decanal support.
Arts & Science Process
Faculty, staff and units who wish to apply for an ISEF Seed or Impact grant are asked to follow the Arts & Science process outlined in the tables below. The goal of this process is to provide feedback and support to enhance the quality of proposals.
If you have any questions about the Arts & Science ISEF Seed or Impact grant process, or have an idea for a teaching and learning initiative and would like to discuss whether it might be appropriate for ISEF, please contact Thuy Huynh, Teaching & Learning Project Coordinator at 416-946-3890 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
